Right-hander Kris Medlen is returning to the Braves on a Minor League deal, sources confirmed to MLB.com's Mark Bowman. The club has not commented on the deal.
Medlen's deal does not include an invite to spring camp, according to a report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The 31-year-old went 1-3 with a 7.77 ERA over six starts for the Royals last year before missing the rest of the season with a right shoulder injury.
