Oct. 29—Capital Region native Ian Anderson will take the ball for the Atlanta Braves to start Game 3 of the World Series Friday against the Houston Astros in Truist Park in Atlanta.
The best-of-seven series is even after two games in Houston. Anderson and the Braves resoundingly won the opening game, and the Astros responded. At just after 8 p.m. Friday, all eyes will be on the 2016 Shenendehowa graduate in Atlanta's Truist Park — and millions more at home — as he lets the first pitch go.
The 6-foot-3 right-handed hurler, known for his exceptionally natural mechanics and calmness on the pitcher's mound, already has a feel for playing on the big stage.
