Of all the pleasant surprises in the early going of this season, perhaps no one has surprised more than reliever Shane Carle. So when Carle left Tuesday night’s game after throwing just two pitches, there was obvious reason for concern.
Thankfully, it appears Carle avoided a serious injury.
The Braves said Carle’s issue was numbness in two of his fingers, and while it may continue to cause him issues in the future, it’s (obviously) better than an elbow or shoulder ailment. I would imagine he won’t be available tonight as Sean Newcomb takes the mound in New York.
