Former Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard is expected to make his debut for the Gwinnett Braves on Saturday according to a report by MLB.com’s Mark Bowman. Howard signed a minor league deal with the Braves two weeks ago.
Howard struggled during his final season in Philadelphia slashing .196/.257/.453 in 112 games. He did total 25 home runs but is far removed from the guy that was one of the most feared sluggers in the National League from 2006-2011. Howard went unsigned throughout spring training before the Braves took a flyer on him.
