Just because the minor league regular season ended earlier this week doesn’t mean that we don’t have minor league baseball to talk about as Rome finds themselves in the South Atlantic League playoffs.

The offense struggled to string together hits and push runs across and that combined with a couple defensive miscues resulted in Rome dropping their playoff opener to Lexington by the score of 3-1.

Rome let the first runner of the game get on base on an error by Hagen Owenby at first base. This proved to be costly as a wild pitch and then a single drove that runner home to put Lexington ahead 1-0.
