DENVER (AP) -- Right-hander Gonzalez Germen, claimed off waivers earlier this week from the Chicago Cubs, was called up by the Colorado Rockies and scheduled to start Friday night's game against the Atlanta Braves.
The Rockies also placed right-hander David Hale on the 15-day disabled list. Hale pitched 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief Thursday against Atlanta before leaving with a left groin strain.
In other moves, the Rockies selected left-hander Aaron Laffey to the major league roster and optioned right-handed pitcher Scott Oberg to Triple-A Albuquerque.
