Report: Braves close to naming Brian Snitker full-time manager (Big League Stew)

Turns out the Atlanta Braves had the guy they wanted all along. The Braves, after doing their due diligence, are reportedly close to removing the interim tag from Brian Snitker and naming him their full-time manager.

The Braves had interviewed ex-MLB managers Bud Black and Ron Washington for the job, as well as three of the Braves coaches, Terry Pendleton, Eddie Perez and Bo Porter. But according to David O’Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Braves have decided Snitker is their man, the official announcement just hasn’t happened yet. O’Brien writes:

Barring any unexpected development, an announcement is likely to come this week on a day when there aren’t as many major league postseason games as there were Monday, when three were played.
