ATLANTA -- The Nationals tallied another first-inning run, benefited from Bryce Harper's latest home run and secured the first 4-0 record in franchise history with an 8-1 win over the Braves on Monday night at SunTrust Park.
Howie Kendrick recorded the first of his two doubles during a two-run first inning and Harper added to Sean Newcomb's woes when he drilled a three-run home run in the second inning. The early support was more than enough for Tanner Roark, who faced the minimum through the first three innings and limited the Braves to one run over seven frames.
