Monday evening’s performance Bartolo Colon inspired the Atlanta Braves to reevaluate his role moving forward. While that is a story line worth monitoring, the rest of the squad must look to bounce back on Tuesday behind Jaime Garcia.
Garcia has been quietly excellent across his past two starts, navigating a total of 13.2 innings while allowing only one (unearned) run. That brings the left-hander’s ERA down to 3.18 on the season and, frankly, he has been the best option for Atlanta in recent days.
In game two of the series against the Philadelphia Phillies, Garcia will be opposed by 24-year-old right-hander Aaron Nola.
