PHILADELPHIA — The Phillies didn’t learn who they’d be facing in Game 3 of the National League Division Series until early Friday morning, not that the delay seemed to matter much to them.
Spencer Strider got the ball for the Braves, the rookie right-hander having last pitched on Sept. 18 thanks to an oblique injury.
Manager Rob Thomson was expecting to go with his lineup for righties anyway, assuming the Braves would start either Strider or Charlie Morton. Morton (9-6, 4.34 ERA) will go in Game 4.
“We knew what the lineup was, whether it was Strider or Morton,” Thomson said.
