MIAMI — Marlins ace Jose Fernandez returned just in time to cool off the Braves but his team’s bullpen couldn’t stop them from continuing their surge.
Braves second baseman Jace Peterson tied the game with a two-run homer in the eighth inning and then knocked a go-ahead RBI single in the 10th for a 3-2 victory. The Braves extended their season-long winning streak to six games and improved to 4-0 this season at Marlins Park.
Fernandez limited the Braves to one hit over seven shutout innings before the Braves finally broke through against reliever David Phelps.
