Days after returning from the disabled list, Atlanta Braves second baseman, Ozzie Albies, will now miss the remainder of the season after fracturing his pinky during Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Albies appeared to injure his finger during a head-first slide into second base.
The Braves had just activated Albies off his rehabilitation assignment with the Gwinnett Stripers, with him making the return to the lineup in Friday’s series opener against the Phillies.
After the game, Braves Manager Brian Snitker said he was hopeful that Albies could return to the team during the playoffs.
