EUGENE — Oregon’s Adam Maier was drafted by the Atlanta Braves.
The Ducks’ ace was drafted by the Braves in the seventh round with the No. 215 overall pick of the MLB Draft on Monday.
Maier went 1-1 with a 4.02 ERA over three starts with 19 strikeouts over 15.2 innings for UO last season, but suffered a season-ending arm injury on March 4.
From North Vancouver, British Columbia, Maier came to Oregon from the University of British Columbia. He also played for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox during the summer of 2021, posting a 4.55 ERA with 27 strikeouts in 25.
