Suddenly, the Mets are two games ahead of the Natspos in the East. And Matt Williams’ club is 3.5 games out of a wild card spot. How delicious would it be to see that loaded DC roster, picked nearly unanimously to win the East, miss the playoffs entirely? For me, very delicious.
I’m no Mets fan, of course. But I’ve grown to despise the Natspos much more than the Mets.
The Braves play the Mets six more times and the Nats five, all in September. The Braves play the Marlins tonight, of course. It’s rainy. Both teams are bad.
