So last night was a good one for Braves fans. Tyrell Jenkins tossed another quality start for Gwinnett, striking out 8 in 6 IP — a very encouraging sign. He has a 2.03 ERA in 5 appearances, though command (12 walks in 31 IP) remains an issue.
Teammate Mallex Smith added two hits and is slowly emerging from his Triple-A funk. Despite a .231 BA he’s stolen 15 bases in 32 games with the G-Braves. Hopefully Fredi will let him run once he gets to Atlanta.
And Touki Toussaint rebounded from his worst start of the year with a quality outing for the Rome Braves.
