Apr. 12—Atlanta Braves fans cheered hundreds of cancer survivors and their families this week.
It was part of the annual Northside Hospital Cancer Survivor Celebration, held this year at Truist Park before the Braves' game against the Cincinnati Reds on April 11.
David DuVal, a throat cancer survivor, led the parade and had the chance to start the game with a ceremonial call of "Play ball!"
DuVal is a teacher and coach at Forsyth Central High School in Cumming.
The celebration continued through the night as the Braves beat the Reds, 7-6.
