The Atlanta Braves announced that outfielder Eddie Rosario will need a laser eye procedure to correct blurred vision and swelling in his right eye.
The team said Rosario saw a retinal specialist Monday and will have the procedure later this week.
While the team did not say how long Rosario will be out, some outlets report it could be anywhere from eight to 12 weeks.
The blurred vision may explain Rosario’s struggles start to the season. Rosario is batting with a .068 average, three hits and 10 strikeouts. He has the same number of errors as he does hits through the first three weeks of the season.
