NL East offseason in review: Nationals add Adam Eaton, pay steep price

The Nationals will head into 2017 as the favorites to win the NL East once again. One could argue they were the NL's second-most talented team last year behind the Cubs. Another run in October will be expected from Bryce Harper and Co.

Washington made a big splash in mid-December when they traded highly-touted prospects Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez and Dane Dunning for White Sox outfielder Adam Eaton. Make no mistake about it: Eaton is a stud and will help the team tremendously the next couple seasons at a reasonable price.

A handful of national writers felt the Nationals overpaid, though, and it remains to be seen how he fits into the outfield in D.
