ATLANTA -- While this four-game series against the Nationals will determine who exits the weekend atop the National League East standings, the Braves primarily look at this matchup as another opportunity to show their success over the season's first two months has not been a fluke.
Like essentially every other National League team, the Braves' rotation isn't near as deep as the Nationals'. But as the hosts reclaimed first-place status with Thursday night's 4-2, series-opening win at SunTrust Park, they showed they have a blossoming front-line starter in Sean Newcomb and an exciting offense that feeds off of Ozzie Albies' success.
