(Tyler, TX) While the football season is coming to an end, baseball is gearing up for its season and a Texas native is signing on for big money to move to the Big Apple.

East Texas is a hotbed for football stars but our area has its fair share of Major League Baseball talent. One such name that's familiar with East Texans is pitcher A.J. Minter who was a key member of the Atlanta Braves’ bullpen during the team’s World Series run back in 2021.

Minter attended The Brook Hill School In Bullard, TX.

The Tyler native led his team to the state championship in both 2011 and 2012 and was awarded the East Texas MVP Award.
