WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Washington Nationals reinstated right-hander Stephen Strasburg from the disabled list in advance of his scheduled start against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night.
General manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement. Strasburg (15-4, 3.59 ERA) has not pitched since Aug. 17 because of right elbow soreness.
Before going on the disabled list, Strasburg allowed 19 runs over his final three starts, including nine over 1 2/3 innings in a loss to Colorado last time out. He is 2-1 with a 4.26 ERA in three starts against Atlanta this season.
