Washington Nationals manager Dave Martinez left his team’s game Sunday against the Atlanta Braves in the sixth inning after feeling chest pains.
On Monday, general manager Mike Rizzo told reporters that Martinez will not join the team for its road game against the St. Louis Cardinals as he remains in a Washington hospital after undergoing a heart procedure.
Martinez had a cardiac catheterization
The 54-year-old underwent a cardiac catheterization and remains hospitalized for testing. Rizzo said that Martinez is upbeat, but noted that there is no timetable for his return to the dugout.
