The Atlanta Braves reached a deal with free-agent relief pitcher Nate Jones on a minor-league deal with an invitation to big-league camp, Jones' agent announced Tuesday night via Twitter:
Jones, a former Pendleton County High School and Northern Kentucky University standout, posted a 6.27 ERA and 1.661 WHIP in 21 appearances for the Cincinnati Reds in 2020. He was released by the Reds last September.
Over eight seasons with the Chicago White Sox from his rookie season of 2012 to 2019, Jones posted a 3.12 ERA and 1.219 WHIP.
Jones turned 35 last month.
