The MLB Trade Deadline is just over a week away and the Atlanta Braves could be a very active team over the next week. While Atlanta may not be looking to deal some of its big names like Julio Teheran, they have several veteran options that could be valuable bench pieces for teams over the stretch run.
On that note, the New York Mets are monitoring Braves’ reliever Chris Withrow according to a report by the New York Post’s Mike Puma.
The Mets view another reliever as more easily attainable and are monitoring options that include the Angels’ Joe Smith, the Braves’ Chris Withrow and possibly Brewers closer Jeremy Jeffress — who would cost the Mets significantly in terms of players needed to make a deal.
