If the New York Yankees want to sign Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman, the window is open.
MLB Network’s Jon Heyman reports he “Last heard 6th year was still at issue in Freeman/Braves talks but situation is fluid and they’ve still got to be considered the favorite. Meanwhile, other teams are showing interest in the great Brave.”
On Monday, Heyman reported the “Yankees met with reps for all top lefthanded-hitting 1B, including Freddie Freeman. Of course the Braves would seem most likely to retain Freeman, while Rizzo and perhaps trade candidate Olson, among others, may be more realistic for NYY.
