It's official: For the first time since 2009, Jeff Francoeur will officially be a member of the Atlanta Braves' major league squad after the team announced that they were going to purchase his contract and add him to the 25-man roster.
When the Braves signed Jeff Francoeur to a minor league contract, Francoeur made it clear that he wasn't going to do a second stint in Atlanta's minor league system -- either he'd make the team, or he'd try to latch on to another team in baseball. Today was the deadline for the Braves to decide whether or not they'd keep Francoeur -- who is an Article XX(B) free agent -- on their roster as they break camp later this week.
