A lost 2020 season didn’t cost Michigan’s Jesse Franklin a spot in the MLB draft.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound outfielder was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the third round (97th overall) Thursday, despite missing the entire 2020 season because of a broken collarbone suffered during a skiing accident in the offseason.
Franklin is the third Wolverine drafted Thursday, joining pitcher Jeff Criswell and outfielder Jordan Nwogu. This is the second straight year Michigan has had three players drafted in the first three rounds.
