Miller and Braves lose again, team’s skid now 11 games

WASHINGTON — Murphy’s Law has been Shelby’s Law this season. Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong when Shelby Miller pitches. (Or lately when anybody pitches for the Braves, but that’s another story.)

More examples were provided in the third and fourth innings of Saturday’s 8-2 loss to the Nationals, the Braves’ 11th consecutive defeat and franchise-record 12th straight loss for Miller during his staggering 20-start winless streak.

Miller (5-13) left in the fifth inning trailing 7-0, and the Braves didn’t get a hit against Gio Gonzalez until the sixth inning and lost for the 18th time in 19th games.
