The Atlanta Braves made a roster move on Wednesday optioning starter Williams Perez to Triple-A Gwinnett and recalling pitcher Casey Kelly. Perez pitched on short rest on Tuesday when he was pressed into action in place of Julio Teheran.
Perez allowed two hits over 3 1/3 innings against the Dodgers and has yet to escape the fourth inning in any of his three starts this season. Ryan Weber threw 3 2/3 innings in relief of Perez on Tuesday as well. Kelly will serve as the long reliever until another starter is needed on Sunday.
The Braves have yet to announce who will make Sunday's start but it appears that Mike Foltynewicz and Aaron Blair are the leading candidates.
