Julio Teheran turned in another solid outing but the Atlanta Braves couldn’t give him any run support in a 5-1 loss to the New York Mets.
Teheran’s day got off to a rocky start when he walked leadoff man Nori Aoki who scored on a triple by Jose Reyes to put the Mets in front 1-0. Teheran then walked Brandon Nimmo to put runners at the corners before striking out Kevin Plawecki thanks to a generous third strike call by home plate umpire C.B. Bucknor.
Teheran followed with his third free pass of the inning to Dominic Smith to load the bases.
