The Mets couldn't get much going at the plate in Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader, falling 1-0 to the Atlanta Braves.
Here's a few takeaways from the game:
- Jerad Eickhoff got into some early trouble in the first inning of his Mets debut, allowing a leadoff double to Ronald Acuna Jr. He got Freddie Freeman to pop out, but then walked the next two batters to load the bases. Eickhoff struck out Austin Riley and then forced Dansby Swanson to ground out and escape the inning without damage.
