In a move that brings the Mets another optionable reliever, the team has claimed right-hander Seth Elledge off waivers from the Atlanta Braves.
To make room on the 40-man roster for Elledge -- whom the Mets optioned to Triple-A Syracuse -- Jose Quintana was transferred to the 60-day IL.
Elledge, 26, last pitched in the majors in 2021, when he had a 4.63 ERA and 1.71 WHIP with 11 strikeouts in 11.2 innings for the St. Louis Cardinals.
