ATLANTA -- The Braves experienced their first rain delay at SunTrust Park when play was halted with two outs in the top of the fourth inning of Thursday night's game against the Mets.
Jay Bruce gave the Mets a 3-1 lead when he hit a two-run homer off Braves starter Jaime Garcia a few minutes before play was stopped. Bruce has hit three of his 10 home runs during this four-game series.
The rain began falling during the bottom of the third inning, as the Braves scored their run with consecutive doubles from Brandon Phillips and Freddie Freeman off Mets starter Zack Wheeler.
