The Braves took one on the chin Monday night, with the Mets using a five-run fourth inning to take a commanding lead early and hold off a late comeback attempt. Julio Teheran was off his game and the Mets made him pay in his third start against them this season, besting the Braves and their ace by a final of 7-5.
The first inning began with a bang for both clubs, as each team’s leadoff hitter would homer to begin their respective frames. Michael Conforto hit a 1-2 pitch to dead center of Teheran, staking the Mets to a 1-0 advantage out of the gate.
