The fact that the Braves have not completely crumbled into a shell of a competitive team since their best player, Freddie Freeman, went down with an injury on May 17 can be largely attributed to the production Matt Adams has brought to the table since Atlanta acquired him on May 20.
Freeman was hit by a pitch in that May 17 game, and ultimately wound up with a fractured left wrist that he is still at least a month from returning from. The Braves won that evening against the Blue Jays to go to 16-21 on the season.
