Outside of Albies and Swanson, the Braves mostly brought their B or even C lineup with them against the Cardinals, who brought their main squad. This was a sloppy game for the Braves.
Lucas Sims got the start vs. journeyman Miles Mikolas, and it was an eventful game to say the least. Sims promptly walked the lead-off batter, Dexter Fowler, followed by walking Chris Carpenter before giving up a 3-run home run to Marcell Ozuna. 3-0 Cardinals after a half inning of play.
Braves responded with Ezequiel Carrera connecting on an RBI single.
