But in the moments after the blast that sealed a win in the best-of-five series against the Milwaukee Brewers, the Braves first baseman praised his general manager for mid-summer moves that changed the team’s trajectory.
Freeman duly noted that the transactions Anthopoulos engineered in advance of the July 30 MLB trade deadline were critical in taking what was then a middling team to one of the hottest in the game.
