LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- As Luiz Gohara was completing final preparations leading up to what would have been his first start of the Grapefruit League season, he sustained yet another injury that now creates doubt about when he might be ready to join Atlanta's rotation.
Gohara turned his left ankle as he stepped on the first-base bag while completing pitchers' fielding drills before Friday night's game against the Yankees at ESPN's Wide World of Sports complex. The big left-hander had been limited during the early weeks of camp with a strained left groin, but he was scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Tigers.
