There has been a flurry of recent roster activity from the Braves as they have activated guys from the disabled list and try to get the bullpen settled. As a result, several players were placed on waivers with the hope that they would clear waivers and be able to be sent to Triple-A Gwinnett without another team trying to claim them.
This is always a bit of a gamble, but who is likely or not likely to be claimed often goes into the decision as to who will get DFAed and it appears to have worked out for the Braves this go around as all three of Lane Adams, Rex Brothers, and Josh Ravin have cleared waivers.
