Braves catcher Kurt Suzuki will undergo x-rays and a CT scan on his left elbow after he was hit by a pitch in the 9th inning of Tuesday’s 6-1 victory over the Pirates. The Braves tweeted they will announce the results of those tests on Wednesday morning.
Any kind of serious injury to Suzuki’s elbow would (obviously) be a significant blow to Atlanta. Suzuki and Tyler Flowers have formed a 50-50 split behind the plate this year, and losing the veteran backstop for any extended period of time would be tough to navigate. Suzuki is hitting .
