Things did not look good for Braves catcher Kurt Suzuki after taking an upper-90s fastball to the left elbow on Tuesday night, but he appears to have avoided a serious injury as the Braves announced Suzuki is day-to-day with a left triceps contusion.
Suzuki immediately left the game in the 9th inning, and he stayed on the ground for a few minutes after being plunked. He left the clubhouse to get x-rays and a CT scan on his elbow. There was some real concern that Suzuki might’ve broken something, but thankfully he came out OK.
Fortunately for the Braves, there isn’t a day game slated on the schedule until Sunday.
