Kemp ejected in third for arguing strike call

MIAMI -- Matt Kemp's birthday did not go exactly as he had envisioned. The Braves' left fielder was ejected during the third inning of Friday's game against the Marlins after he expressed displeasure toward a strike called against Nick Markakis.

Kemp was thrown out by home-plate umpire Adam Hamari, who drew the ire of many Braves when he called a strike on a 3-1 slider Andrew Cashner threw Markakis with two outs and the bases loaded.

As Markakis stepped out of the box and voiced his disagreement on the call made on a pitch that appeared to be high and outside, Kemp yelled something to Hamari, who then briefly stared into the Braves' dugout before Markakis grounded out to end the inning.
