I’m a teacher. 19 years in the profession have shown me that, first and foremost like my Murphy Jo pictured above, I’m a dreamer and love and passion are the cornerstone characteristics that are needed in teaching. I started my journey in a small school in Mobile back in 2001. From there, I taught in the most dangerous projects in the U.S. (at the time), the Desire Projects in New Orleans, then Port Sulphur, LA where the school was washed away by a 30 foot storm surge, then Belle Chasse, LA where I taught an entire class of refugee students who lost homes during Katrina.
