Petco Park has been a house of horrors for the Braves, and those struggles continued on Monday night as Julio Teheran exited early and lost by a score of 11-4.
Teheran had zero life on his fastball throughout the evening. The stadium’s radar gun never registered a pitch above 89 mph and he regularly sat 85-87. He surrendered a no-doubt homer to Eric Hosmer in the first inning. Corey Spangenberg would homer in the second.
Sunday’s hero Charlie Culberson managed to tie the game at 2-2 with a two-run double in the 4th, but Teheran gave up a monstrous blast to 30-year-old rookie catcher Raffy Lopez just a few moments later to give the Padres the lead once again.
