The Braves lost 2-0 to the Yankees today in spring training action, but the big news is that Atlanta's Opening Day starter clearly appears to be ready to start the season.
Earlier this week, Julio Teheran was officially named the Braves' Opening Day starter for the 2016 season. With five days left until Opening Day, Teheran made his final spring training appearance and if his performance today is any indication, the Colombian right-hander is absolutely ready to take on the pitching duties on April 4th.
Julio Teheran pitched five innings today against the New York Yankees, and he only gave up four hits while striking out two batters.
