TORONTO -- The Yankees placed outfielder Aaron Hicks on the 10-day disabled list on Friday with a right intercostal muscle strain and recalled outfielder Billy McKinney from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Hicks, 28, went 2-for-4 in the Yankees' 6-1 season-opening victory over the Blue Jays on Thursday at Rogers Centre. The switch-hitter was slotted to be the team's starting center fielder.
