It’s a trio of Miami Hurricanes pitchers selected in the fourth round of the 2024 MLB Draft.
First it was Rafe Schlesinger at No. 113 by the Cleveland Guardians.
Then it was Gage Ziehl by the New York Yankees at No. 119.
And finally, it’s Herick Hernandez, who the Atlanta Braves selected at No. 129 on Monday.
Hernandez, a lefty and Hialeah native who started his college career at Miami Dade College, spent one season with the Hurricanes. He struck out 95 batters over 70 1/3 innings spanning 15 appearances (14 starts).
