Atlanta Braves outfielder Hector Olivera has been placed on administrative leave and Major League Baseball has begun an investigation according to a report by the Washington Post's Adam Kilgore.
Olivera was arrested earlier this morning and is currently being processed in Arlington, Virginia. An alleged female victim called police early Wednesday morning and was taken to the hospital. Olivera was arrested at the scene.
Major League Baseball handed out a 30-game suspension to Arlodis Chapman during spring training under its new domestic abuse policy. Domestic abuse charges against Rockies' shortstop Jose Reyes were recently dropped but his status remains uncertain as he awaits an announcement from the league.
