The Miami Marlins’ series finale against the Atlanta Braves on Sunday at Truist Park entered a weather delay midway through the fifth inning.
The rain began falling hard shortly after Joey Wendle grounded into an inning-ending double play in the top of the fifth against the Braves’ Max Fried. Marlins pitcher Pablo Lopez made his way tot he mound and was set to start throwing warm-up pitches when the groundscrew pulled for the tarp. The delay officially began at 3 p.m.
No word has been given about a possible restart time.
