So, the Braves and Padres are set to finish out two-and-a-half innings of a seven-inning game from July 21 as the appetizer course to today’s pseudo-doubleheader of baseball action at Petco Park.
Here’s how we got here:
The game started in disastrous fashion at the hands of the no-longer-with-us Bryse Wilson. A leadoff double, a walk, and a single loaded the bases with none out. Eric Hosmer lifted a sac fly for the first run of the game, and then Wilson threw a very wild ball four to Wil Myers to bring in run number two. After a lineout to center that didn’t work as a sac fly, Ha-Seong Kim roped another double, making it 4-0 in San Diego’s favor.
